In the popular imagination Trump is an emblem of flamboyant, wheeling-dealing entrepreneurial success. O’Donnell himself? Like him or loathe him, anyone who takes national politics seriously should be aware of him. And any conservative who cares about genuine civil engagement, aimed toward reconciliation with fellow Americans, should take his opinions seriously, if for no other reason than that those opinions are taken seriously by liberals. (You want to persuade someone to join you in unity rather than just wallop him or her? Then you’ll definitely want to know, not just where that person “is,” but also where she or he is “coming from.”)

Wikipedia is notoriously unreliable and manipulable. (Stephen Colbert manipulated it once in real-time, on-air, while taping his show.)
